Firstly, welcome to my blog!
I’ve thought about doing this for a long time but procrastination and me are very good friends. The idea for 52 books came to me on New Years Eve, three weeks later I’ve finally gotten round to starting a page (see procrastination, right there), I adore books and reading. I love being transported to different worlds, learning from other people’s experiences and letting the words draw pictures in my head. However, like most people I find it all too easy to sit in front of the TV watching Emmerdale, Corrie and Eastenders – don’t judge, soaps are also good for escapism – but it’s books that have been a constant friend since childhood.
I also love to write. As a child I’d spend hours writing stories in school, it was an effective way of delaying having complete maths tasks and probably why I’m still rubbish at maths. Writing and hearing different stories is why I’m a journalist, why not combine the two? So that is exactly what I’m going to do, my resolution is to read a book a week for the year and write about it, simple! So here goes….
